2. Scope
This privacy policy applies to U-CalQ with the Android package name
de.ucalq.u_calq. U-CalQ is used for U-value, temperature and humidity calculations as well as for the management and documentation of customers,
projects, components, layers, variants and reports.
U-CalQ currently does not have a general user account and does not automatically synchronize project data with a server owned by the controller.
3. Data processed locally on the device
Depending on the input, the following data in particular can be saved locally:
- Customer data such as name, company, address, telephone, email and notes,
- Object and project data such as address, year of construction, building type, country, climate region, heating system and notes,
- Components, layers, material characteristics, individual materials, variants and calculation settings,
- Calculation results, reporting options and issuer information,
- App settings, selected consumer/expert mode, language and locally saved license status,
- photos or files selected by the user as soon as a corresponding function is used.
Storage occurs in private app storage, particularly in local databases and settings files. Android, iOS and Windows protect this area with the security mechanisms of the respective operating system. Additional end-to-end encryption of the local project data by U-CalQ does not currently take place.
Purpose and legal basis: Provision of the app functions requested by the user and execution of the user contract, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Technically necessary local settings are also based on Section 25 Paragraph 2 No. 2 TDDDG.
4. Calculations and reports
U-value, glazing and other building physics calculations are carried out on the device in the current app version. Customer and project data are not automatically transferred to the person responsible for these calculations.
PDF reports, backups and exchange files are only created upon explicit command. When saving or sharing, the user determines the destination, for example a local directory, an email app, a messenger or a cloud storage. From this point on, the data protection rules of the selected recipient or storage service also apply. U-CalQ does not automatically upload such exports to the controller's server.
5. U-CalQ Free and advertising
Advertising is disabled in the current release. U-CalQ Free is technically prepared to later display advertising via Google Mobile Ads. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
- IP address and approximate region derived from it,
- Device or advertising IDs, app and device information,
- Interactions with ads and diagnostic and fraud prevention data,
- Consent and privacy options.
In the affected European regions, the Google User Messaging Platform is used as consent management before loading advertising. Advertising is only requested if the consent management allows this. The selection can be made in U-CalQ under Settings → Privacy can be opened again and changed. U-CalQ Pro and U-CalQ Office do not show advertising.
Legal basis: Consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a DSGVO and Section 25 Paragraph 1 TDDDG, insofar as consent is required. More information: Google privacy policy and Information about European consent management.
6. Subscriptions and Purchase Verification
6.1 Google Play
U-CalQ Pro is offered on Android as a monthly or annual subscription via Google Play . Google processes the Google account, payment and transaction data according to its own terms and conditions. U-CalQ does not receive full credit card or banking information.
To verify and restore authorization, U-CalQ processes product identifier, purchase status, purchase or transaction identifier and the verification certificate issued by Store . The proof of testing can be transferred to a license testing service operated by the responsible party . The sole purpose is the activation, restoration and prevention of misuse.
Legal basis: Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR; for necessary security and misuse checks, additional Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
6.2 U-CalQ Office
When activating an Office license, the license key, a randomly generated installation ID, app version and technical activation status can be transferred to the license verification service. Customer, project, component and report data are not part of this license check.
7. AI photo analysis
The AI-supported photo analysis announced in the app is as “In progress” marked and currently not active. Therefore, no wall photo is currently being sent to an AI provider. Before activation of a later online or device AI, the provider, data volume, storage periods, legal basis and any third-country transfers are disclosed in this declaration and directly in the app. If necessary, express consent will be obtained beforehand.
8. Recipient and third country transfer
| Receiver | Purpose | Possible dates |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ireland Limited and advertising partners named in the consent dialog | Advertising, measurement, consent management, security | Device/ad ID, IP region, app interactions, consent status |
| Google Play | Purchase, subscription, recovery | account, payment and transaction details; to U-CalQ proof of purchase only |
| License verification service of the person responsible | Activation and protection against misuse | Proof of purchase or Office license key, product and installation identifier |
| Service or recipient selected by the user | Export, share or backup | Contents of the deliberately selected file |
Google and individual advertising partners may process processing outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the USA. Responsible providers, according to their own statements, base such transfers in particular on adequacy decisions, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Details can be found in the provider information linked in the consent dialog.
9. Storage period and deletion
- Local customer, project and calculation data remains stored until the user deletes it or removes the app data via the operating system.
- Archiving is not deletion. Archived customers and projects remain restorable.
- Exported reports and backups remain in the selected storage location until the user deletes them there.
- Local license and consent information remains stored for the duration of their function or until app data or settings are deleted.
- Proof of purchase and activation will only be retained for as long as is necessary for license management, protection against misuse and fulfillment of legal retention obligations.
- The storage rules of the providers named in the consent dialog also apply to advertising data.
Since there is no general U-CalQ online account, the person responsible cannot remotely view or delete locally saved project data.
10. Rights of Data Subjects
In accordance with the legal requirements, there are in particular rights to information (Art. 15 GDPR), correction (Art. 16), deletion (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21) and revocation of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 Para. 3). There is also the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

11. Obligation to provide and automated decisions
Entering customer and project data is voluntary. Without the component and material information required for a concrete calculation, the desired result cannot be generated. There is no exclusively automated decision with legal or comparably significant effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. Building physics results and instructions for action do not replace an expert examination of individual cases.
12. Changes and Contact
This statement will be adjusted if functions, recipients or legal requirements change. The current version is provided in the app and at the data protection URL specified in the store.
